About
Us
Children's Wishes was started to
preserve a local organization
governed by a local board and is funded
partly through
individual and corporate donations. Presently,
it is an all volunteer staff.
At this time, Children's Wishes has the purpose to grant
wishes to children with life-threatening
medical
illnesses and work closely with children's hospitals,
physicians, child life specialists and parents.
We grant
wishes to children between the ages of 2 and half and 18
years of age.
We hope that the memories for the wish child and his/her
family will fortify them during the difficult days
that lie ahead and strengthen them to cope with the
challenges of that child's illness. Granting a wish to children living
with a life-threatening illness is our one and
only mission.
Wish-granting has proven to be a powerful healer of a
child's spirits, working to restore strong family
bonds
because we make every effort to include the child's
immediate family and create an experience that will last
a lifetime.
Some examples of wishes children dream about are to have
their very own
computer, go on a family
vacation, meet their heroes, and other special
wishes unique to child.
Wishes can be simple like wanting
a party
for their family and friends or visiting a country of their
heritage.
Whatever the wish, our organization works to bring dreams to life. All our families, donors, and volunteers
are invited to be part
of our wish community.
